Introduction:

This page allows you to easily calculate the effective resistance of a set of resistors, where they are used in parallel. The calculator understands technical notations, such as 2k7 or 0R1 for 2700 ohms and zero point one ohms, respectively.

Instructions

  1. Enter each resistance into the text-box labelled 'Resistances:', either one at a time, or as a list
  2. Press the 'calc Resistance' button
  3. Click the spanner icon next to any entry to Alter or Remove that value
  4. Press the 'Clear Results' button if you wish to discard the current results list, otherwise further amounts will be added to the same total.
